SLA-ibrary

In the Near West Side of Chicago, there is a large amount of linguistic diversity—both in the number of people who speak languages other than English at home & in the number of languages spoken. In an increasingly digital age, we can leverage this linguistic diversity and encourage residents of the neighborhood to use & gain language skills in order to connect with each other. This urban library, focused on language learning, takes cues from second language acquisition theory to better foster connection among residents of the Near West Side, allowing community members to learn from each other.
